"Alright class," Professor Stein addressed his class. "Today we have a new student. Zinnia, could you come in here?"

As you walked into the classroom, you heard many 'Ooh's' and 'Aah's'. You kept your eyes glued to one area of the room, which was the teacher's desk in the front. You walked very calmly, making your way to the front in short time. You were wearing a cream-colored shirt, with ruffled, lace sleeves that went down to your elbows, a black layered skirt with white dots on it, black boots, and pure, snow white gloves. Your (h/l) (h/c) hair was kept down, as it flowed lightly, yet beautifully, behind you. When you came up to Professor Stein, he motioned for you to introduce yourself.

Bowing lightly, you said, "I am called Zinnia, though my name is [Name], a weapon. It is nice to meet you all."

"How's about you show them what weapon you are? Uh, Kid. Could you come down here to wield Zinnia?"

You looked over to see a boy with black hair and three white stripes on the left of his hair walk over to you. He looked almost as stiff as you, but somehow, you were able to look even stiffer. You politely lifted your right hand to your heart, before putting it down. Kid held out his hand, a motion for you to transform. You then closed your (e/c) eyes, as a pure white light erupted from your body. When you transformed, you became two, very symmetrical, dual scythes. They both had a silver staff, with a white blade, and a black insignia on the blade, making it look like you were possessed by something evil. A real weapon for a Shinigami.

"You're incredibly symmetrical! How beautiful your symmetry is!" Kid said as he happily swung you around.

"Thank you very much, Kiddo-san." You replied calmly.

"You don't need to call me that. You can just call me Kid."

You shook your head inside the scythe.

"No, I feel as though I shouldn't have the ability to call you so, Kiddo-san." You informed the symmetry obsessed boy.

You then turned back into your human form, bowing once again to the students before you. You noticed the eyes of a bubblegum pink haired girl staring intently at you. Although, you could tell that she didn't find you interesting. She found you aggravating. You found a seat next to her, as you wished to ask what her problem was, but you were quickly pulled away by a boy with blue hair. He had a huge smile, and looked a lot like an assassin to you. He looked you over a few times, before pulling you again, forcing him to sit to the right of a girl with long black hair, and the left of a girl with sandy brown hair, tied in two pigtails.

"Stay away from Mirai, got it?" The boy told you.

"Does she posses special meaning to you?" You asked politely, so as not to agitate the assassin.

"No," the sandy brunette spoke up, "It's just that she's got the hots for Kid, and you were up there with him. Sometimes, she'll try messing with us, for hanging out with him, but we beat her each time."

You looked at the girl, who's attention was turned to Kid.

"Is she a weapon?" You asked.

"No, but her weapon partner is a broadsword." The dark haired girl next to you told you.

"I heard she can't stand working with her, and always keeps her distance from her own meister." The assassin whispered to you.

"Anyways," the sandy brunette interrupted. "My name's Maka Albarn! It's nice to meet you, Zinnia!"

"Nice to meet you."

"I'm the almighty Black Star! And this is my amazing weapon partner, Tsubaki!" The blunette informed you.

"Nice to meet you." Tsubaki said with a small smile.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, Tsubaki-san, Black Star-sama." You said, giving a small bow.

After class, you were introduced to Soul, Liz, Patty, and Kid. They gave you lots of smiles and comfort, but no matter how many times Maka recommended it, you wouldn't smile, or stop referring to everyone as a "san". You said that it was only because you wished to be polite, but when Maka asked for the real answer, you simply shut down, and walked a little faster, away from the group. In all honesty, everyone wanted you in their group, as you seemed very interesting and relaxed. It would be a change from the rowdiness of Patty, Black Star, and Soul. But whenever they brought it up to you, you gave a depressed look, and shook your head. Maka constantly asked why, but you kept saying it was because you are "Zinnia", and Zinnia can't be part of a group.

Kid stayed relatively close to you the whole day, making nice statements about your hair or symmetrical weapon form. You thanked him wholeheartedly, but whenever you turned around, you would see Mirai with a deadly look on her face. You would then close your eyes and continue walking forward, but the burden of "Zinnia" seemed to be weighing on your shoulders. You felt so distant, even though there were people right next to you. At one point, the group stopped and turned to face you. Maka then grabbed your hands in her own, with a big smile on her face.

"Okay, [Name]." She started. "I don't know much about 'Zinnia', but we really want you to be a part of our group! Please, [Name]? What do you say?"

"I.. I say.."

You looked over at everyone. They all had such happy looks on their faces. You were about to open your mouth to say something, when you remembered Zinnia. You relaxed your arms, and your head fell to the floor. You then looked back up at Maka, and then back to your gloved hands. Her hands had gloves on them too, but yours were much cleaner. Slowly, you took your hands from Maka's and gave a fake smile.

"I do apologize, but I am unable to accept your request. You see.. It is very hard for me to explain, but I can't.. I'm sorry."

With that, you ran off, using one arm to cover your tears.

"Hey! [Name], wait!" You heard Maka cry.

You ignored the scythe meister, and continued running, crying along the way. You had no idea where to go, but decided that home would be the best answer. On your way out the door, you felt something hit your cheek. Hard. So hard that you fell from impact. You looked up from where you were on the ground, only to see Mirai, with a purple haired girl next to her. You gave no sign of emotion, no anger, joy, despair. Nothing.

"You stay away from Kid, you hear me, you stupid new kid!?" She screeched at you.

You got up from the ground, and looked her dead in the eye. Without warning, you punched her so hard, that she flew into a wall. There was a red mark on her cheek, as her weapon just stood dumbfounded. You then walked over to her, as she grabbed a fist full of your hair. As she pulled it, you kneed her in the chest, and then slapped her across the face. As she held her cheek, you gave her an uppercut, followed by a side kick to her gut. This kick had forced her to topple over, as she looked up at your cold, dead eyes.

"Kiddo-san is his own person. He will stay away from me by his own will. But if you go to such lengths as to attack me, then I will attack you back, ten-fold." You told the girl, as you walked past her weapon, to the door.

As you were about to walk out, the weapon girl grabbed your arm.

"You know what you're getting yourself into?" She asked, very concerned for you.

"I am 'Zinnia'. I have a burden much larger than you could think. This will only add to my burden, nothing more, nothing less." You told the weapon girl, pulling your arm away from her.

You the walked out of the school doors, out into the outside world. A tear fell down the side of your face, as you walked to get home. You stared at everything that passed, a tear falling down your face when you saw a group of friends together. Another would fall if you saw people hugging. Or laughing. Or a love confession. By the time you got halfway back home, your face was wet with tears. Little did you know, a certain Shinigami-sama was watching over you.

"Oh, I can't stand this! Poor Zinnia, look at her tear-stained face! Why does she do this every day, every week?"

I watched as father had his mirror on [Name], or Zinnia. She's been going to the DWMA for about eight weeks now, thank goodness. And every single day that she leaves the school, she does this. She was simply walking along, looking normal as ever, but her face was covered in tears. Her (e/c) eyes kept focusing on the happiest things, but each time her eyes hit something happy, a tear would fall from Zinnia's face. I don't understand her. Just like I don't see the error in being called Zinnia. I don't even know what the meaning of "Zinnia" is, but from the way [Name] puts it, it seems like a bad thing.

"Father," I call out, "what does 'Zinnia' mean?"

Father turned his attention away from his mirror, and faced me. Bringing one of his big fingers to his chin, he thought on my question. I don't get what "Zinnia" is, never mind the fact that it's something bad. How could she be named something so horrible, well, if it is something horrible. After some time I looked over, to see Father shrugging his shoulders at my question.

"I'm not exactly sure, Kiddo. All I do know is that 'Zinnia' is a flower, a rather beautiful one too. Look," Father said, pulling out a book from nowhere, like Maka. "Here is a Zinnia flower."

I looked down at the pink flower.

"What lovely color." I said.

"Indeed. I don't see why [Name] says that Zinnia is a bad thing."

I thought over it for a minute. How is Zinnia a bad thing? Zinnia is a rather beautiful flower, wouldn't Zinnia be a good name? I find it rather beautiful just as Zinnia, not as a flower. Maybe I should just ask [Name] what 'Zinnia' means, so that I can understand her. I mean she's been here for weeks now, how have I not asked her yet? Oh yeah, because she's literally avoiding all of us. She'll see our group coming up to her, and she'll run for her life and we end up never finding her. She even moved from her spot in between Maka and Tsubaki, into the farthest corner in the room. Even during lunch time, she disappears and we can never find her, no matter where we look.

"Father, I'm going to find [Name], and ask her what Zinnia means." I informed my father, as I got up from where I was sitting.

"Alright, Kiddo! But, don't be forceful about it, okay? If she doesn't wish to talk about it, don't force it too much, got it?"

"Aren't you going to be watching me through the mirror?" I asked.

"Maybe!" Father said with his cheery voice.

I sighed and waved goodbye, going out of the Death Room to find [Name].

You sat down in the park after getting bored of walking. As you looked over, you saw two best friends, a boy and a girl hanging out near each other. The girl was laughing at something the boy had said, and the boy looked down, a smile still evident on his face. A tear slid down your cheek at the sight, pure sadness reflecting in your eyes. It was then that you saw the boy turn to face the girl, his face still looking down at the ground. He said something you couldn't hear, but both the girl and the boy turned red, before the boy looked up, worry present on his face. The girl then gave a nod, and the boy embraced her in a hug, right before he kissed her on her lips. Tears flowed freely down your face, but you made no hiccups or sniffles. You felt so lonely.

"[Name]! There you are!"

You looked up, hearing the sound of your name, only to see Kid coming down on his skateboard. He tried to approach you, but you got up from your seat and jumped back. Fear had over taken you, as you continued backing up from the Shinigami. He held out a hand to you, showing that he meant no harm, but you were too scared to notice. You couldn't let him get any closer.

"Hey, hey. It's okay, [Name].. It's just me, it's just Kid."

"I know, Kiddo-san. But, you need to stay away from me. You need to go, right now." You warned the young Shinigami.

"Okay, I will. But first, I want to know what 'Zinnia' means." He informed you.

Your eyes widened, and you took off in a full sprint, tears beginning to form in your eyes.

"Hey! Please wait!" Kid called out to you.

You rubbed your eyes with the white glove on your hand, as tears began to fall from your face. Kid continued to go after you, but you made such sharp turns, that he wasn't able to find you. He even tried to use Soul Perception, but your soul seemed to be nowhere around here. This was a lie, because you had been sitting down in the dark, and thanks to your dark clothing and dark night, he hadn't been able to see you. The not seeing your soul was thanks to a little someone who gave you the cursed name of "Zinnia" in the first place.

"Hello, Zinnia."

"Witch Alchemea." You responded coldly, the tears on your face ceasing to fall.

"Was that boy a friend of yours?" The witch asked menacingly.

"No."

"Are you lying, Zinnia?"

"No."

Witch Alchemea was the whole reason you had the name, "Zinnia". When you were little, your mom was a witch too. She was a rather kind witch, and used her magic for good. When you were born, you were a normal, human baby. You had no magic properties or powers, so your mother decided to change all that. She was going to use a spell what would give you half of her magic, and that half would turn into a whole when you had children. Unfortunately, it's against the rules to give non-witches witch powers. She was then hunted down by her enemy, Witch Alchemea.

When she found your mother, the two had a horrible fight. There was magic and weapons, and so much bloodshed, it was like a small lake. Your mother, Witch [M/Name], ended up losing the fight, and was then killed by Alchemea. You had been out at school during all this, so returning to a house full of blood wasn't a very pretty sight for an eight year-old. It was then that Alchemea had cursed you. Because it was against the rules to give you any type of hex, which would pass on magic power to a non-witch, she cursed you. She found a Zinnia flower in a jar at your house, so she cursed you with these exact words.

'You, from now on, are a 'Zinnia'.'

'W-W-What's that?'

'It's a flower. This flower. Do you know what a Zinnia means?'

'N-No..'

'It means-'

"What are thinking about, Zinnia?"

"Nothing much, just the hell that you've made me go through." You responded coldly.

She gave a laugh and then played with her fingers. Because of her, your life was meaningless and depressing. She knew this for a fact, and loved that it was true. The name she had given you had nothing really to do with your pain, it was the curse that came with the name that had given you hell. The name prevented you from having friends, or even a relationship. If you did find friends or a boyfriend, even if you found a meister, they would die the next day. Basically, you were doomed to be alone forever.

"Why? Why would you put me through all this crap? The only thing that I can have close to a friend is an enemy, and I hate you for doing so. What did I do to you? What!?"

Alchemea looked away, her response being, "Nothing really, it was your mother's fault in the first place."

"What did [M/Name] do to you?"

"She killed my daughter, so I cursed her's. I just needed to find the right reason for doing so."

You stared at the witch, before turning to leave.

"Where are you going, Zinnia?"

"Don't call me that shit."

Before the witch could slap you, or do anything at all, you ran away from her, as fast as you could. You ran and ran until you heard something perfect. A scream. This is what you had been looking for this whole time. You ran faster toward the scream, to find something horrible. On the ground was half of a bloody, smashed Mirai, her soul gone. Back against the wall was her weapon parter, tears flowing freely from her face. She looked over at you, and held out a hand to wield her, but you simply tilted your head with a happy smile written across your face. Within a few moments, the weapon partner was crushed, basically flattened, and then ripped in half.

"Sorry, but as Zinnia, couldn't have helped you if I tried." You admitted.

The Kishin then turned to you, it's bloody mallet arm facing you.

"Please do. It's not.. Like I have anything better to do."

The Kishin moved forward.

"Don't be scared."

Forward.

"Do it."

Forward.

"Thanks."

Forward.

"For getting rid of Zinnia for me."

It lifted it's arm up.

"Zinnia.."

And brought it down, to end you.
