Simple.

The concept of your happiness is simple.

Yet no one cares.

Who could blame 'em?

Neither your mother nor father cared, so why should they.

Whatever.

"Choose what to believe, assholes."

That's your motto.

Simple.

Yet, suffocating.

"[Name], look. It looks like rain!"

Your weapon, Haru was always there for you.

Not that it helped any, but she was always trying to cheer you up.

She knew that rain or stormy weather was your favorite, but she didn't know why.

No one did.

You looked into her indigo eyes, and moved one of her silver strands of hair out of her face.

"That it does," was your reply.

"HARUUUU!!"

Haru turned to the voice, only to be tackled by her lover, Black Star. She was flustered at first, but she was soon comforted by his heartbeat. After a few moments of hugging, everyone filtered out of the DWMA, only to see Haru lightly kiss Black Star's nose. Black Star immediately turned red, and started spinning Haru around. She simply gave a giggle, and you gagged silently.

You hated lovey-dovey moments like this.

Well, more so, you were jealous.

Jealous of people who had good lives, rather than the pain..

Snapping from your thoughts, you realized that everyone had their eyes on you, even Death the Kid.

"[Name], what's the matter," Kid asked.

The look on your face was confusing.

You looked horrified, as though Haru had just been eaten alive. You were backing away slowly, shaking as you did so.

"[Name], are you okay?"

"NO!!"

You dropped all the things in your hands, and gripped your hair. Everyone except Death the Kid backed up.

"GAAAAH!! I HATE THIS!! Why.. WHY!? WHY DO YOU GUYS GET THE GOOD LIVES!?!?"

You had thrown your head back, and looked like a demon had possessed you. It slowly began to drizzle, which turned into rain. Everyone was simply standing there, and you were walking towards them. You grabbed Death the Kid by his collar, and lifted him into the air.

You were choking him!

"[Name], stop it!!"

Everyone, including Haru, ran over to where Kid was, but you kept your grip on him tight. Soon people started kicking you and punching you and scratching you, trying to get you to let go of Kid.

"You see? See this? It doesn't hurt anymore, Kid.. IT DOESN'T!!!"

You let go of Kid, and ran.

Ran straight through the street, leaving all your stuff behind.

You didn't care what anyone thought.

You didn't need to.

You were all alone.

Forever.

"What's her problem?"

Everyone had flocked around me, like birds to their nest.

Sure, I was startled at first..

"Kid! Oh my god, Kid are you okay!? I'm so sorry!" Haru had come up to me, checking my neck to make sure I wasn't bleeding. She looked really pissed off, but I don't know why. "I don't know.. Why she did that!? God, my meister's insane!"

"No."

As soon as I heard that last phrase I slapped Haru's hand away.

"You don't understand. None of you do. Neither do I. But I intend to find out."

I ran after [Name], following her traces using soul perception. There's something wrong, something she won't tell us. But, "insane"? No, I won't stand for that. I see her all the time.. Just sitting..

"Okay, everyone. Today we have a new student here at the DWMA. Introduce yourself."

I stared at the girl's (h/l) (h/c) hair, as she stood perfectly symmetrical. Her hair was covering her (e/c) eyes, but I could still see them quite well. I wonder, is she okay? She seems a little..

"[Name] [Last Name]. I do not wish to be here. I am being forced against my will, once again."

I noticed how everyone gave her strange looks. That cold look in her eyes, the way she sat in the back of the room, did anyone even care?

After the bell for lunch rings, I get my things and walk over to her.

Liz and Patty try to stop me, but I make my own decisions.

Quietly, I step beside where she is. She looks over, her eyes glazed over like those of the dead.

"What."

I am not surprised by how she talks to me. She seems like that type.

"My name is Death the Kid-"

"Lord Death's son, correct?"

Once again, I am not surprised by this.

"Yes."

She stares at me directly through her glazed eyes.

"I have no friends."

"I'll be your friend."

"No one cares."

"I will care."

"Everyone hates me."

"I won't hate you."

"Yes, you will. Everyone does."

She stepped onto her desk, and stood up. She then gave me a look that showed no sympathy. Was she always like this? Not caring about anything? If so, why? I don't understand it.

"No one will ever be there when I need them, and things will stay that way. That's what I know, and I don't need you changing things for me, asymmetrical Shinigami boy. Choose what to believe, asshole."

She then jumped down from her desk, all the way down to the floor below her, and walked out of the room.

'Choose what to believe, asshole.'

You sat down in front of a pond.

It wasn't that big, it was a pond you made when you were seven.

It was about as big as your backpack, with stones all inside, and around the rim so that no dirt would taint the water.

The rain continued to fall, but no rain water got into the pond, because there was a small, wooden guillotine in behind it, with a small wooden roof over the pond. The guillotine had actual metal on it, but you could never use it. Not even if you wanted to. The metal wasn't sharp, it was only there to make the tiny guillotine seem more realistic.

You stared at the pond, and then hung your head over it.

You let the rain fall as you leaned over the pond, which was almost full.

That was until you heard a crunching noise.

"I found you."

"Shinigami boy."

It was true.

Death the Kid was standing behind you, simply staring at your head over the pond.

"You wanna know?"

Kid tilted his head.

"Why I love the rain so much?"

He walked over and sat down beside you, staring at the pond, and then turned to face you.

"Please tell me."

You let out a low laugh, a sad one.

"'Cause no one can tell if you're crying."

Kid's eyes widened.

He then gripped you in a hug, as your arms stayed by your side. His eyes were still wide, but he continued to stroke your hair. You still didn't move, but you stared up at the gray sky.

"Don't tell me.. That pond-"

"Is made of my tears? If that's what you were going to say, then you've hit a nail on the head, Shinigami boy."

Kid only hugged you tighter, wishing he could just erase all your pain. He didn't want this! He would never want this! He only wanted for you to be happy but now..! It was then that Kid felt something wet on his shoulder, but it was too warm to be rain. He clenched his teeth, and held you closer. He started whispering sweet, soothing words into your ear, trying to convince you that you were okay.

"Why? Why, Kid? Why am I the only one stuck with this crappy life.. Stuck in an eternal suffering?"

Kid then pushed you away from him, only to close the space between you.

The kiss was a sad kiss, one that tried to make the other person happy. He put all of his locked up feelings into it, all that he could possibly find in it, wishing to wash away your pain. He didn't want you to give up. He wanted to be the hope that you could rely on. Ever since you called him 'Asymmetrical Shinigami Boy', a part of him always said..

"I'll be here. No tears will be shed, with me here. I'll be there to kiss away the tears if they come to fall. So please..."

You looked into his golden eyes.

"Let me replace the rain."
Sorry.. I had a bad day, and I wish that this would happen to me so much sometimes...
