"Well, well, well."

Your meister, Reiko put another piece of butterscotch in her mouth, staring at the witch in front of her.

The wolf witch, Biki, was at her feet, wallowing in her own pain.

You and your magenta haired meister Reiko had been out looking for this witch, and you two happened to find her by following a bloody trail of wolf prints. Once Reiko found her, you turned into a scythe and the two of you took her on. Biki wasn't very good at magic, so you were able to get great hits into her. Reiko had been looking for this witch for revenge. This witch had slaughtered her entire family when she went out to the market, and ever since then, she planned on exacting revenge. That was the same day she met you, as you had stumbled upon her crying, promising that you two could fight together.

"What do you have to say, hmm?" Reiko stepped on the witch's face, squishing it without mercy. "My family's death, what about it, huh? You, uh.. You got any reason for it?"

Biki said nothing, but Reiko wouldn't take that for an answer.

Reiko stepped hard on the witch's wound over her stomach, forcing more of the witch's blood onto the ground. Biki simply winced in pain, but Reiko's glare was enough to make the witch whimper. This only agitated Reiko more, and she pointed her foot into the wound deeper.

"Wolf.. Calling," Biki announced. At that moment, about fourteen wolves attacked Reiko.

She carefully lifted you up, and began swinging you at the wolves.

"Come on," Reiko said, rather annoyed, "Can't you do any better than this? With weak-ass magic like this, my scythe and I could beat you over and over."

Biki gave out a laugh.

"You missed one."

"Reiko, turn around!" You screamed out to your meister, hoping she would attack in time.

By then, it was already too late.

The lone wolf that had hid in the shadows jumped out at Reiko's back, and tore into her skin. She was bleeding horribly, and you were too shocked to say anything. The wolf tore at her flesh, and all you could do was transform back into your human form. Turning your arm into a scythe blade, you slashed right through the wolf.

"Reiko!"

Your meister looked up at you, with blood dribbling from her mouth. Her long, magenta hair mixing with the crimson of her blood. She gave a weak smile, but you could tell it was sincere.

"I know things now"

You stoked her long hair and set her head on your lap.

"Do you now? What do you know?"

You decided to talk to her as you did all the time, acting as though you two were simply talking on the couch.

"Well.. I think I'm going to die soon.."

You shook your head.

"Nah. You're just gonna take a nice, long nap is all."

"Oh.. That sounds nice.." Reiko's gaze averted from you to the stormy sky, as rain began to fall. "I'm going to see my brothers and my mother and father soon."

"Really," you followed her gaze, "Tell them I said hello, okay?"

"Yeah. Hey, [Name]?"

You gave a hum in response, as you looked at the wolf witch try her hardest to get up.

"I think the sun's set to rise."

"Really?"

"I know the sun's set to rise."

You nodded. Carefully, you moved a strand of hair from her face. The rain was starting to soak both yourself and her, but you two didn't mind.

"Goodnight, [Name].."

"Goodnight, Reiko."

With those last few words, Reiko closed her eyes with a smile on her face. She suddenly went cold, and stopped her breathing. You positioned her hands so that one was over her heart, and the other to her side.

Standing up, you closed your eyes and moved a strand of damp hair behind your ear.

Biki looked up at you with sympathetic eyes, as if telling you not to kill her.

You refused to listen.

"Hey, Soul?"

Maka, Soul, Kid, Liz, Patty, Black Star, and Tsubaki were all walking to lunch together, talking about what ever random things popped up in their heads. Maka had been relatively quiet today, with only one thing on her mind.

Patty was trying to tell Liz about how quickly she could break a giraffe's neck, Black Star was telling Tsubaki about his new plan in surpassing God, and Kid was simply talking to Maka about anything Maka wished wished to talk about. During all of this, Soul kept his gaze glued to the floor. He was worried about something, as he had looked rather down since Professor Stein's class, and you had been no where to be seen all day.

"Do you know where [Name] is?"

Everyone went dead silent and stopped in their tracks.

Come to think of it no one had seen you today.

Soul rubbed the back of his head.

"No, I've been wondering where she was. I didn't see her in Professor Stein's class today.. I wonder if she's sick."

The albino boy had quite the crush on you, but was pretty good at hiding it. He had been worried about you all day, and couldn't stop thinking about were you could be. He wanted to confess his feelings soon, but he just didn't know how. The fact that you weren't here today only made him more nervous.

Tsubaki shuffled nervously, until Liz noticed she that she was.

"Tsubaki," Liz said to the shadow weapon, "What are you hiding?"

Everyone's gaze found themselves upon Tsubaki.

"Tell the great Black Star what's wrong Tsubaki! I shall be able to fix your problem!"

"W-Well, I think I saw her-"

(Songstamp: [Paradise])

Tsubaki was cut off by the sound of music, a piano, to be exact.

Quietly, the gang followed the sound until they came across the music room.

They weren't exactly sure of what to expect, but they wanted to know who or what was playing. Who or what ever it was, was playing beautifully, with such skill and admiration. They seemed to know the instrument by heart, or at least the music. They played with delicacy, as though the piano would break if they played a wrong note.

Carefully, Soul opened the door, which, thankfully, didn't creak.

Everyone was surprised at what they saw next.

You.

There you were, in the flesh, playing a piano.

It didn't seem like something you would do.

You were totally into sports and video games, and hoodies with broken zippers. They would've never guessed that you, out of all the things you could be doing today, would be playing a piano.

Quietly, all seven of them walked into the room, and sat behind where you were playing.

Soul sat the closest to you, and no one objected to this, but instead listened to you play your song.

He listened to every note hit, his eyes focusing on your (h/l) (h/c) hair that swayed slowly whenever you shifted you weight to get more reach across the piano. He wondered what was wrong, why you even were playing the piano.

Not that he minded the calming music.

He then looked around, noticing how people were taking the music.

Maka seemed to be utterly lost, while Tsubaki was engulfed in the music. Even Black Star and Patty seemed relaxed and quiet, as Patty held her giraffe plushie close to her. Liz for once, wasn't checking her nails, but was watching your fingers dance across the keys. Kid wasn't even complaining about how the piano wasn't a symmetrical instrument, instead he had his full attention on the song.

Soul then turned back to focus on you, and began relaxing into the tune as well.

Before he knew it, his eyes were closed, and he was relaxing into the song.

Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo.
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo.

When we were just girls,
We expected the world,
But it flew away from our reach,
So we ran away in our sleep.

And dreamed of para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Every time we closed our eyes.

Soul opened his eyes during this part of the song, taking in the lyrics being sang.

He had an idea.

Could this song possibly be about that?

Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo.
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo.

When she was just a girl,
She expected the world,
But it flew away from her reach,
And butterscotch in her teeth.

Life goes on,
It gets so heavy,
The wheel broke my butterfly.
Every tear, a waterfall.
In the night, the stormy night,
She closed her eyes.
In the night, the stormy night,
Away she flied.

And dreamed of para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

She dreamed of para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

Realization hit Soul like a ton of bricks.

How could he be so stupid?

It all made sense now, and all the pieces in the puzzle connected.

This song, it had to be about then.

It wouldn't do you any good if it wasn't about that moment.

Today would be a very special day.

That is why this song is being sung.

No one else would understand, because you had only really talked about it with him.

Only Soul could solve the mystery.

Only Soul new the answer.

La-la
La-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la.

So lying underneath the stormy skies.
She said oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
I know the sun's set to rise.

This could be para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Could be para-para-paradise,
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

This could be para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Could be para-para-paradise,
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

Soul watched with sad eyes, as the tears tickled down your face, onto the keys.

You continued playing your song, thinking back, hating yourself for not being faster.

You groveled at the fact that you could've done something.

Yeah, but..

You didn't.

This was her para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise,
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-ooo, oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-ooo, oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-ooo, oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-ooo...

(Songstamp: [Decretum])

Releasing your hands from the keys, you took in a breath.

You turned around to leave, only to see Soul standing in front of you.

"S-Soul!?" You quickly wiped the tears from your face, and then turned to look at the ground. "W-When did you all get in here? I-I thought I was alone."

Everyone looked at you, confused and relaxed.

Sheepishly, you rubbed the back of your head. "W-Well, what do you guys think, huh? Eh-heh-heh.."

Soul then wrapped you in a soft, yet warm embrace.

"Today's the day, huh?"

You nodded and buried your face into the crook of his neck, tears flowing freely down his jacket.

"What's today," Kid asked getting up from his position on the ground.

"Reiko would've been fourteen today."

Everyone took a quiet gasp, and sorrow washed over their faces.

"S-She was a-always so kind.. S-She never deserved t-that..! If anything, I-I should've-"

"No."

You stopped speaking for a moment, as you were cut off. You pulled yourself away from Soul for a minute, but he quickly brought you back to him.

"Don't you dare say that. If you were gone [Name], I don't know what I'd do.."

"S-Soul..?"

"[Name].. I love you."

All eyes, except for Soul's, widened at his confession. Soul kept his grip on you tight, proving that he wasn't playing with you. Carefully, he placed a kiss on your lips, hoping that you would return it. Slowly, you did, wanting the kiss to last as long as possible. Soul was the one who broke the kiss, and no one made any comment about it, not even Black Star.

"Come on, [Name]."

"S-Soul..? Where are we going?"

"To find a new dream."

Welp, felt like doing this, so I did it!
Coldplay is amazing, yet I don't own this song!
Also, this story is a sad one. (I had trouble writing that sentence)
